Dr Karin is a non-specialist advanced small animal surgeon.

Following graduation from The University of Sydney in 1993, she began working in a busy mixed practice on the northern outskirts of Melbourne, and it was in these early days in her career that she discovered her interest in small animal surgery. She moved to solely small animal practice (dogs & cats) in 2000, and continued to advance her surgical skills, gaining Membership of the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons in Small Animal Surgery in 2002.

Karin moved to a fully surgical role in 2018. She cofounded Southern Animal Health and Melbourne Bulldog Clinic, and established Advanced Small Animal Surgery after leaving these clinics in 2025.

Throughout her career, Karin has always strived to offer the latest surgical procedures to her patients, and attends regular workshops and conferences, enabling her to offer and perform surgeries that many general practitioners would refer to a specialist.
